With the current rush to use cannabis extracts globally, many aren't considering the long-term effects of the solvents used in making the various products. I've been using this product that has zero solvents, the story of how and why its made is very interesting;

By using a very unique type of micro- dehydration process that’s solvent-less, the production method of this product allows the cannabis flower to activate in its natural plant form without extracting. I love to know the story behind a cannabis product, and this one really gained my interest quickly! But I wanted to know more from the Founder of this company – Alan Hoskins and was able to get a unique insight into how this all started. Personally, I’ve activated cannabis in the past and put it in capsules for ingestion. It seemed like it worked to an extent, although I destroyed all terpenes, little did I know that this was being researched and developed into a product that’s very medicinal but also appeals to the crowd looking to simply enjoy the effects of cannabis. Any good product can be mimicked, but one that’s been created with care and love for the people like this truly can’t be duplicated.

These 50mg capsules are interesting. I’ve ingested them whole, added them to yogurt, coffee, and even oatmeal. Putting it on my steak dinner one night made my fiance look at me strangely – but it worked!

An interview with Alan Hoskins, Founder, RA' Flower: How did you start using cannabis - was it medicinal?

” I initially started out as a recreational user as most people do. Along the way, I would say in the last 5 years, I have realized the medicinal benefits. I use CBD for pre and post-workouts. In the past, I would use supplements for both, but now I only use CBD. I am also a night owl and don’t sleep too well, so I use a combination of THC and CBD for sleep.”

When did you decide to step into the Cannabis Industry?

“My love for Cannabis started over 20 years ago in Ogden, Utah. I was fortunate enough to be a part of a product development company back in college when I was in my early 20’s. We developed the first sublingual breath strips. We ended up shipping the products to Europe as there was a viable Cannabis market in Amsterdam. To our disappointment cannabis was not allowed to be adulterated in any way. The feedback on the product was great, looking back we were way ahead of our time” Impressive, Alan is definitely a pioneer!

Why did you develop this particular product?

“In 2012, our product development company was contacted by a manufacturer in Colorado to develop THC gum. This is about the time when I began experimenting with activated cannabis flowers. I was living in California at the time and we were conducting R&D tests on the bioavailability of the gum. I did not have access to oil, so I decided to experiment with activated cannabis flowers. I had spent a lot of time researching different extraction methods and understood the activation process, converting THCa to THC. At the time I really didn’t know where this was going, but I knew I was on to something. I ended up consulting with a testing lab, that basically told me I was wasting my time and I would never be able to fully decarb or activate plant material without significant loss. At this point, I was already at an 80% conversion rate, so I spent the next few years refining the process and really educating myself on terpenes and cannabinoids. Minimizing the degradation of key plant constituents was the most challenging part as they degrade and activate at different temperatures.”

Remember – when they say it can’t be done it’s people like Alan that do it!

I remember your past involvement in another brand - a type of Cannabis candy. Can you expand on that?

“It was in late 2016 when I developed and launched Canna-Burst Fruit Chews. This was the first edible infused with decarboxylated (activated) flower. The edible was a home run and it certainly wasn’t because of the taste, the activated flower provided a much more medicinal experience for the end consumer. With no marketing, we were selling almost 10,000 units per month in about 35 storefront retailers. With the new regulations in 2018, we decided to re-brand the company and change the direction of product development. The new regulations limited edibles to 10mgs, so we made a business decision to launch an all flower capsule. This allowed us to continue to develop a product line with no limits on dosage. This also seemed like the right move as many of our consumers have medical recommendations, they’re patients, so we were able to provide a product that was sugar-free, diabetic-friendly, vegan friendly, with a multi-use option (Swallow, Sprinkle, Smoke). We spent almost a year testing the capsules in the market and getting feedback from consumers.”

When did you officially launch this and is it available to consumers now?

“RA’ Flower was launched just over a month ago and we are super excited to get this to the mass market. I believe we have the most innovative cannabis product on the market.”
